Dr. Donald Rugg founded Charlesworth & Rugg, Inc. in 1976. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from UCLA and has served on the faculty of UCLA, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine Universities. Before founding Charlesworth & Rugg, Inc., he was an economist for Rand Corporation. Dr. Rugg is a non-voting member of the Investment Committee and primarily focuses upon the firm’s research and portfolio management activities. He has authored "The Dow Jones Irwin Guide to Mutual Funds" and "New Strategies for Mutual Fund Investing." He is a member of the CFA Institute, and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. In his free time, Dr. Rugg enjoys playing tennis, hiking, golfing and spending time in the Sierras.
